With the advice and support of the Director, Corporate Communications, Marine Corps Systems Command, the candidate will develop and maintain relationships with key media contacts in the National Capitol Region area, including large dailies, broadcast, key weeklies, business publications, trades, and freelance journalists. Key functions will also include educating and informing the media about MRAP contracts, identifying and preparing spokespersons for interviews (including working with them on message development, anticipated questions, interview techniques and logistics), and working closely with the Program Manager to identify newsworthy topics and spokespersons. Serving as the spokesperson for the MRAP program; Responding to media calls; Arranging print and electronic media interviews with MRAP experts; Participating in media training sessions for MRAP team members; Briefing and preparing MRAP team members for media interviews.

SAIC is seeking an experienced professional for a Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Response Program. The focus of the program is to implement a limited WMD/CBRN response capability at selected Coast Guard stations. The mission focus for the program is urgent search and rescue (SAR); and ports, waterways, and coastal security (PWCS).

This individual will provide on-site support for the program, acting as the assistant site manager for the two Coast Guard small boat stations and one air station in the Boston, MA area. Office space will be provided at the on-site location for the position: Station Boston, located in Boston, MA. The assistant site manager will work directly for the site manager at that location. The primary focus to the position is to manage the equipment involved in the program, including receipt, inventory, issuance, maintenance. Depending on the qualifications of the individual hired this person will also assist the site manager in other ways, such as assisting in presenting training, conducting exercises and collecting test data.

Typical areas of support will include:
§ Receiving, moving, storing, issuing and accounting for CBRN equipment, including suits, respirators, filters, gloves, detection equipment, etc. This work may require generating spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel and/or working with a scanning/bar code system and related databases.
§ Maintaining equipment documentation

focused on the evolution of Optech's bathymetric LIDAR technology. The
team is developing the capability to achieve 3D shallow-water seafloor

Control documentation and configuration in accordance with established
industry standards; and participate in proto-type design as well as
transferring products to manufacturing.

Duties and Responsibilities: Test /Documentation/Compliance Engineer

Under the direction of Optech's Systems Development manager, accomplish
all necessary engineering activities to:

Develop and design mechanical elements from the component to systems to
packaging in a high paste R&D environment; Prototyping to Manufacturing;

Experience in the design of optical instrumentation a significant
advantage;
Experience in ray-tracing analysis (ZEMAX), an advantage.
Translate knowledge of mechanical concepts to layout in order to provide
the  highest quality documents for long term reliability and
performance;
3D CAD modeling of components, assemblies and systems. including
production level drawings.
Provide user-friendly documentation packages for R&D, manufacturing; 
Documentation control and maintenance;
Support existing designs;  
Ensure the design follows industry standards and meet the product
specifications;
Qualifications:

University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering or
equivalent
2-3 years in design field (optical instrumentation – an advantage)
Experience with CAD modeling and generation of machine-shop level
drawings a must. SolidWorks preferred 
Familiarity with PDM system

This job may require domestic and international travel.
