***  From Tim Boulay:

Ned!

I’m hiring for the last of five vacant corporate communications positions on my staff, and I hope you’ll be able to post on your next JOTW:

I’m looking for current and former federal government workers – and veterans – who are interested in a GS-14 equivalent supervisory public affairs specialist position working with me at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division in Patuxent River, Md. My command does the research and development, engineering, test and evaluation for everything that flies in the Navy and Marine Corps.

If you’re not familiar with Pax River, it’s about 75-90 minutes away from Washington, D.C., the locality pay is the same as if you are working in the center of the District, housing prices are about two-thirds cheaper, and my commute went from three hours a day to 30 minutes.

You can find details at https://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/487319100.  The posting closes at midnight, Jan. 4.

– Albert Schweitzer

This edition of DEFCON 1 comes to you from Hanalei, Kauai, Hawaii.

*** Welcome to the latest edition of the number one Defense Career Opportunities Newsletter, “DEFCON-1,” a networking newsletter featuring job opportunities and career advice for those who are part of the global defense, aerospace, maritime, marine technology and security industry.

DEFCON 1 brings you job opportunities every week, and counts on members like you to submit job listings to share and post in this newsletter.

***  NOTE:  I am migrating this newsletter to a new Google Groups List (Defense Career Opportunities Network).  If you didn’t receive this newsletter directly by email, you can be included in the group so you can continue to receive this newsletter for free.  Just send an email to lundquist989@cs.com requesting to be added to the DEFCON 1 list.

When you learn about a job opportunity in the defense sector, such as a position that comes open with your company, you send me the title, organization, location, and a brief description; link; or contact information, and I’ll share. This is a cooperative network. That means everyone’s participation is required to provide job opportunities to share.
