Maritime Security 2015 West provides discussion and collaboration on strategies and technologies to counter maritime security threats encountered by governments, law enforcement, and port/terminal owners and operators. Interactive workshop sessions are designed to give all conference participants the actionable knowledge on how to better secure their maritime areas of responsibility, mainly by stressing the importance of collaboration, efficiency, and best practices. Each topic will be addressed by relevant perspectives of those who have implemented successful strategies and technologies in their maritime security operations.

*** The Edward S. Miller Research Fellowship in Naval History.
The Naval War College Foundation intends to award one grant of $1,500 to the researcher with the greatest need who can make optimum use of the naval history research materials located in the Naval War College’s Naval Historical Collection, Naval War College Museum, and Henry E. Eccles Library.
Further information on the manuscript and archival collections and finding aids from the Naval Historical Collection are available on request by email (NHC@usnwc.edu) or on the Naval Historical Collection website at https://usnwcarchive.org/.
The recipient will be a Research Fellow in the Naval War College’s Maritime History Department, which will provide administrative support during the research visit. Submit a detailed research proposal that includes a full statement of financial need and a comprehensive research plan for optimal use of Naval War College materials, a curriculum vitae, at least two letters of recommendation, and relevant background information to Miller Naval History Fellowship Committee, Naval War College Foundation, 686 Cushing Road, Newport RI 02841-1207, by 1 August 2015.
